The Ultimate Master Guide to Viking Vengeance
This guide is the definitive strategy for mastering the Viking Vengeance event in Kingshot. Success is not just about individual power; it is about perfect alliance-wide coordination and a deep understanding of the event's mechanics. For the best results, every alliance member must understand and execute this strategy precisely.
Section 1: The Three Golden Rules (Non-Negotiable)
Your alliance's success hinges on every single member following these three foundational rules without exception.
-
Empty Your City: Before the event begins, you must send 100% of your own troops out of your city to reinforce allies. Do not keep a single troop at home for defense.
- Why this is CRITICAL: The point system is designed around this principle. The City Owner (the player being attacked) receives the primary "Defense Points" for surviving a wave, regardless of whose troops get the kills. The Reinforcing Players earn their personal points based on the number of kills their troops achieve. If you keep your own troops at home, they will "steal" kills from the allies who are reinforcing you. This means your allies will earn almost no points for helping you, which severely damages the entire alliance's score. An empty city guarantees all kills—and therefore all personal points—go to your helpful reinforcers.
-
Do Not Heal Troops During the Event: When troops are healed in the Hospital, they are immediately returned to your city. This violates Golden Rule #1 and will cause your troops to steal kills from your allies.
- The Only Exception: You may heal troops right after a wave only if you are immediately sending them back out to reinforce an ally or the HQ before the next wave hits. Otherwise, wait until the event is completely over.
-
Do Not Extinguish Fires (After One Defeat): Your city is eliminated from the event after two defensive failures. If your city fails a defense and starts burning, leave it. You can still host reinforcements while on fire. Extinguishing the fire costs diamonds and provides no strategic benefit, as you are still in the event. Only extinguish fires after the event is completely over or after your second defeat.
Section 2: Pre-Event Preparation & Alliance Coordination
What you do before the first wave timer starts sets the stage for victory.
-
Individual Preparation:
- Fortify Your Guard Station: Go to your city's "Guard Station" and assign your three strongest heroes. Their powerful stats and skills provide crucial buffs to all troops garrisoned in your city, including the large number of reinforcements from your allies. This is the most effective way to use your best heroes.
- Long-Term Upgrades: In the days and weeks leading up to the event, invest in upgrading your city's core defensive structures: the Guard Station, Barricades, and Defense Towers.
-
Alliance-Level Coordination:
- Organize Reinforcement Groups: This is vital. Form small groups of 2-6 players who have similar power levels. Players within these groups should be positioned close to each other on the map to minimize march times. These groups will be responsible for reinforcing each other throughout the event.
- Pre-Assign an HQ Defense Team: Before the event, designate a team of your 10-15 strongest online players to be responsible for garrisoning the Alliance HQ on waves 10 and 20. Assign a leader to coordinate the rally. This prevents last-minute scrambling.
- (Optional) Plan Alt Account Usage: If you have a sub-account in the alliance, it can be used to send a full reinforcement march to your main account without needing a garrison in return. This is a significant advantage.
Section 3: In-Event Strategy & Execution
How you act during the 20 waves will determine your final score.
A. Main Waves (1-9 & 11-19)
- Deploy Reinforcements: Use your heroes (but not the top three in your Guard Station) to lead marches to your designated alliance partners.
- Maximize Your Personal Score (Troop Composition): To get the most personal kill points, your reinforcement marches should be composed primarily of Infantry. As the front-line unit, your Infantry will engage the Vikings first and secure the most kills before other troop types can attack.
- Active Monitoring & Communication:
- Read Every Battle Report: Pay close attention to the reports in your mail.
- Identify Struggling Allies: If a report shows an ally has "Total Defense Defeats: 1/2," they are in danger. Immediately post their coordinates in alliance chat and call for stronger or additional reinforcements to prevent them from being eliminated.
- Watch the Loss Rate: If a city's loss rate in a report approaches 65% or higher, they are at high risk of failing the next wave. Call for immediate backup.
- Be a Smart Reinforcer: If reports show you are getting very few kills at an ally's city, it is likely they have not followed Golden Rule #1. It is more strategic to recall your army and send it to an ally who has an empty city, where your troops can earn you points.
B. Special Event Waves
- Online-Only Waves (7, 14, 17): During these waves, Vikings will only attack members who are currently online. These are high-value stages. Focus all available reinforcements on your online members to ensure a 100% kill rate and maximize points for everyone involved.
- Alliance HQ Waves (10 & 20): Vikings will attack the Alliance HQ exclusively. You have approximately 3 minutes to prepare.
- The "Recall and Redeploy" Tactic: As soon as the HQ wave is announced, recall one of your armies from an ally. Immediately send that army to garrison the Alliance HQ.
- HQ Defense Composition: The pre-assigned defense team should fill the HQ rally. A strong composition is crucial. Examples include: only Tier 8+ Shield Infantry, or a mix of Tier 10 Shield Infantry with Tier 8/9 Shield Infantry as fillers. A balanced ratio might be 65,000 Shield Infantry and 5,000 Cavalry per march.
- Reset for the Next Wave: As soon as the HQ defense is successful, recall your troops and send them back to reinforcing your ally before the next normal wave begins.
Section 5: Advanced Late-Game Strategy (The Strategic Recall)
This is a key tactic for highly coordinated alliances aiming for the top ranks.
- The Concept: From Wave 17 onwards, the Viking attacks become incredibly powerful. At this point, the alliance points gained from successfully defending the final, difficult waves (18, 19, 20) in your own city can be more valuable than the personal kill points you would earn reinforcing someone else.
- The Action: Consider recalling your reinforcing troops back to your own city starting at Wave 17. This will dramatically increase your city's survivability. It is better to ensure your own survival to the end and collect those high-stage defense points than to risk being eliminated while your troops are away.
Section 6: Final Reminders & Cautions
- Shields Are Useless: Peace shields (bubbles) do not protect you from Viking attacks.
- No Resource Loss: You will not lose any resources if your defense fails.
- Communication is Key: Use the alliance chat constantly to share coordinates, report high loss rates, and coordinate troop movements. Real-time information sharing is the key to victory.
By following this master guide, your alliance will be prepared for every stage of the Viking Vengeance event, leading to higher scores, better rewards, and a stronger, more coordinated team. Good luck
